“Sew For TO” and our Dragonfly, Lisa Hepburn

While our Dragonfly crew is working remote and using some spare time to get involved in the community needs for dealing with Covid-19, we want to do a shout out to a particular group one of our Dragonflies is volunteering with on a daily basis.

Lisa has joined the Sew For TO group – an amazing group of people who have come together to do all they can to help during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sew For TO works with donors of fabric and material, sewists and volunteer drivers to boost the supply of masks in Toronto and connect it with the growing demand.

This group is sewing around the clock making masks and skull caps for our frontline workers. The creativity of making skull caps with buttons for the masks to attach to, in order to lessen the strain on the ears from elastic, is just one more innovative detail that comes to fruition during these times.

All of their work is on a volunteer basis and they give their masks away for free. Anyone in need of masks, as well as anyone who would like to donate materials, sew masks or make deliveries can find the information on their site.

Sew For TO wants to do more but is limited, due to availability of materials, so they have set up a Go Fund Me page. Please stop by and have a look or visit their website at www.sewforto.ca

Stay safe and be kind.
